NOTE: If you are completely new to options trading,that’s fine,as I cover most of the basics. However,I highly recommend that you also go to your local library or bookstore and get a book about options to make sure you have a good grasp of it. Some good titles would be “Options Trading (That’s not my site. Also just realize most of the information,while excellent,is theoretical and academic in nature).

THE BIG PICTURE –TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

What kinds of technical analysis help us in our business? There are only a few key analysis tools that can help you determine the probabilities of market direction and I tell you exactly what those are. I’ll give you insights into why the market moves the way it does.

I’ll also give you a historical perspective on market movements going back to 1900 and give you a realistic plan of attack for determining future market direction based on factual evidence.
In the 2nd video,I dive into short-term indicators that can sharpen your edge in the markets to better time your trades. Not even one of these strategies requires any knowledge of ‘technical analysis’–it can help,but it’s not required. These make money whether the market goes up or down. These are strategies you can manage based on ‘the numbers’. One important thing I should mention:There are ways to make money that are NOT obvious. For example,Strategy #1 is something I have been studying for years,and it works every time and cannot fail to work.

Using this one method I turned a $14,000 trade into a $75,000 profit in just 8 months. The most money at risk? Just $650. That was the total amount that was at risk when this position was initiated and NO more money was ever put into the position. Amazing profit/loss ratio. (We entered our trade in NFLX and discovered that we couldn’t borrow shares to short the stock- real world. So we opted for our second choice AVP. Order entry and a $40 profit! Not very large,but it was easy money and the stock hardly moved.)

(A profit of approx $2,440 today on AVP plus the profit of $250 from yesterday put our net profit at $2,683. Our deltas moved all the way to +583 but we could only hedge by shorting another 500 shares as we already were 500 shares short. The majority of our profits came from our long Aug 35 strike call on AVP –I looked at the chart and I sold them at 9.60 –the highest actual trade of the day! (they were ‘bid’at $10 but no one bought) Some are lucky,some are smart –today I got lucky. So I decided to close the trade but keep the almost worthless ‘put’(.02 cents). Selling it would cost us $15 in commissions and leave use with $5 so we might as well keep it …if AVP moves and reverses we will potentially have another way to profit from the long put.)
